Für weitere Bilder bitte >> hier klicken << Just on time for the start of the new racing season of the “BFGoodrich Langstreckenmeisterschaft” Racing Event Motorsport has presented its new BMW 135 D Coupé to the public. The white “Northloop Racer” is the successor of the 135 DBD. This car was heavily damaged during an accident, which occurred during one of the last VLN runs in 2007. “I am glad, that we are now able to present the roll-out of the new car. Despite intensive teamwork we didn’t manage to get it ready for the test runs which took place last weekend. But now we have a real masterpiece”, Andre Ibron, head of the team, says proudly when referring to his “jungest” offspring at BMW Diesel Power. The heart of the white racer from Munich is the 3.5 litre engine, running on bio diesel, which has been in use since 2007. “We have created our new car with the experience of the last two years”, Andre Ibron says. He is not only using the same engine now but almost the same car: In technical terms the different variants of the 1 and 3 series BMW only marginally differ from each other. As to our sponsors we continue working with Evonik and Wetterauer. Furthermore the advertising agency Mohr is joining, whose CEO Werner Mohr has also signed up as a driver. “After two successful years with Bugs Bunny and Franz Groß I am very happy to have aquired a fast and secure driver again”, says the head of the team. The first race of the BFGoodrich Langstreckenmeisterschaft will show, if the intensive work in building up the car can be transferred into a success. “I think, that we will at least be as good as last year”, Andre Ibron is hoping. In the class SP11 he wants to be one of the best. 2007 he managed to gain the second position, despite the early drop out due to the accident. However, also the old 1series BMW will be built up during the next few weeks. “We are rebuilding the car with the old 2-litre engine.” The team is aiming to start at the 24-hour-race with both cars. “However the start of the ‘smaller’ BMW cannot be guaranteed”, says Andre Ibron, who is concentrating on the coupe for the season start. |
